Finally the turkeys are gone!!!

Are turkeys were loaded up today and will be taken to the slaughter house tomorrow. I actually will miss them running up to us and calling to us like we are their moms. Erin has never touched a turkey and is deathly afraid of them. I made her hold one she is just about in tears! Poor thing. ( I mean Erin not the turkey.)
Emilee thinks this is the best. She can barely hold it because of the weight and flapping its wings. It's been a great experience.

I'm sure everyone loves hearing about our turkeys and pigs.

Turkeys for sale!

This is one of our friends with Emilee, he works for Les Schwab and bought her turkey. Businesses from Tooele County show up and bid on the turkeys. They go for hundreds of dollars.
On Tuesday Erin and Emilee went to the County Turkey Show to sell their turkeys. They have been raising 11 turkeys since July. The turkeys weren't very big. This is our first year. They averaged 14-21 pounds.

The girls were actually excited and sold their turkeys for a lot of money. But they are only allowed to sell one turkey each at this sell.

This was a great experience for the whole family. Between raising pigs and turkeys the girls and Collin have learned a lot about being responsible. We are very proud of them.

Halloween Costumes

Collin and Emilee were so excited for Halloween. Collin is Darth Vader and Emilee of course is Hannah Montana. We went to a couple of houses in our neighborhood to trick or treat and then ran to a party we were late for. (imagine that) We had lots of fun at our friends. Lots of food. We stayed there until midnight. The family struggled Saturday morning to get up and get going.
Here is Max, Garrett, Tyson and Collin going for a bike ride. They all had fun until poor Collin's tire blew out.
